Introduction: Alcoholism can result in a compromised regenerative capacity of bone and delayed osteointegration of dental implants. One of the mechanisms is that the thereby overdosed all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a main metabolite of alcohol, can significantly inhibit osteoblastogenesis.
